Mediating with High Conflict Parents Experiencing Divorce
I am an educated and successful mediator with a family mediation practice and my goal is to empower families to continue to resolve their conflict. Children’s needs as well as your needs will always be evolving and therefore the agreement you make today, some aspects may be different in the future, which may be revisited and revised without seeking the relief of the Court. Let's discuss together how separation has impacted not only YOU BUT ALSO your children, extended family and others.
HOW I CAN HELP YOU - WOULD YOU LIKE TO TRY AND SETTLE YOUR DISPUTE OUT OF COURT? SAVE ON LEGAL COSTS? PRESERVE RELATIONSHIPS?
I believe Mediation is an effective process for not only resolving conflict but also to assist parties with their new beginnings! I AM CONFIDENT THAT THE MEDIATION PROCESS CAN ASSIST FAMILIES!!
I SPECIALIZE IN FAMILY MEDIATION
- Family Mediation can assist parties to find solutions to conflict through an interest based problem solving process.
- Mediation allows the parties to come to a resolution that empowers each party to make decisions that is best for THEIR families needs!
- If you have children, choose a parenting plan that works for you.
LETS TALK ABOUT:
- Parenting (shared and primary parenting / decision making
- Division of Property
- Family home, pensions, personal and real property, assets and debts
- Child Support
- Spousal Support
- Communication
MEDIATION CAN HELP YOU:
- Understand and focus on important issues
- Bridge interests
- Create options and solutions
- How to move forward in your new family dynamic
Not only is the court process emotionally draining, but it also may lead to greater financial hardships and further barriers between the parties.
I have known parties to wait over a year for the Court to direct an Order.
I recently had been waiting for a Judge to render a decision regarding child support which took the Judge 10 months to render a decision.
MEDIATION COSTS
*$150 / Hr for independent consultations with Mediator
*$100 / Hr for each party during joint sessions
*plus taxes and disbursements
AGREEMENT - After our joint mediation session, you may want to put "pen to paper" outlining a summary of our discussions and your commitment you made in mediation and have your lawyer review with you!
Before parties sign Separation Agreements and Documents, I always encourage parties to seek independent legal advice.
CONSENTED DIVORCE - That's right parties can consent to a divorce!
It's true, not all divorces require for parties to seek the advise of a lawyer although
it is a great idea to know your legal rights.

The Mediator will assist parties in negotiating and endeavoring to reach an acceptable agreement that works for their family. The Mediator will remain an impartial and neutral third party to the discussion between the parties without making decisions or judgments on those issues being discussed. The mediator will not give legal advice to the parties with respect to legal rights or legal issues that may arise in the discussions. All communications used in mediation will be treated by all parties as confidential and will not be admissible in any other proceedings.
- You have selected me as a neutral third party to help facilitate discussions.
- Each party will have an independent consultation with me as a family mediator.
- Both parties will then participate in a joint mediation meeting with the mediator. $100/hr for each party.
- During mediation, if the parties would like for a lawyer to be present to ask any questions or to provide clarity, this also can be arranged at a shared cost to the parties.
- Once the parties have reached an agreement, the mediator will draft an agreement based on the summary and understanding of discussions with the parties, and review with the parties and they could take to their lawyers for ILA.
DIVORCE / COMMONLAW / SEPARATION / PARENTING AGREEMENTS - these are all documents which I encourage parties to seek independent legal advice before execution.
You may have heard of the following agreement or documents and in fact, parties don't always require independent legal advise on the agreement they have reached, although I always recommend parties to seek ILA.
SEPARATION AGREEMENTS may include information regarding:
- property division;
- pensions;
- parenting and decision making;
- child support, spousal support;
- Section 7 expenses - other expenses for the children
Documents:
Petition - The commencement of an action
Financial Statements (details your income and expenses)
Property Statements (details your assets and debts)
Order / Judgement - direction of the Court
